“Say Sue Me is a super adorable band that makes sunny lo-fi rock songs out of Busan, South Korea. Before releasing their sophomore album next year, they’re dropping a single with London label Damnably Records and Korea’s Electric Muse for the labels’ respective 11th and 10th birthdays. Premiering today on The FADER, that song is called “Good For Some Reason,”a sweet-sounding tune about staying upbeat even when you’re feeling down on yourself.” Leah Mandel The Fader

“The quartet play an addictive amalgam of sugary indie pop and gritty surf that showcases a finely-tuned sense of melody and technical skill. Frontwoman Sumi Choi is a witty lyricist, and she writes songs about normal things such as going to work, drinking too much, feeling lonely (“Long Night and Crying”), or being a problem child (“One Week”) in relatable, humorous ways.”
Mariana Timony Bandcamp Daily

“Nary a song on Say Sue Me isn’t a total ear worm. Many, such as the title track, are often quite funny. “Say Sue Me” (yes, they have a song named after their band, but we’ll let that go) is about hating your job and features a groovy surf guitar lead with a hilarious chorus: “When I quit this job, I’ll never get a new job.” But there are also some real heartbreakers in the mix. “I’m Sorry That I Am Drunk” details a night during which Sumi begins to drink while waiting for a friend or lover, and is particularly wrenching in its quiet desperation, the song’s melancholy melody matched by Sumi’s earnest pleas: “Why were you so late tonight/ I couldn’t stay sober…Sorry that I am drunk/ Could you stay with me until I am sobered up?” Indie pop doesn’t usually shade this dark, and it’s a refreshing take on a sometimes purposely childlike genre.” Mariana Timony Bandcamp Daily

“Twee, but not too twee, Busan, South Korea four-piece Say Sue Me is my favorite recent random discovery. They released this endearing, 18-song self-titled album in April. Really sweet, melodic rock that makes me feel like I’m in high school.” The Fader

“It’s 2.50(Good for Some Reason) of deliriously lovely vocals, instrumentation and an attitude that just wants to brighten up your day however you’re feeling. And coming from a band with such a tragic back story? I love them even more for that. An absolute must for indie discos around the country.” Louder Than War
“The group hails from South Korea, but don’t let that fool you, as they seem to have the same knack for crafting infectious hooks as everyone’s indie darlings, Alvvays….” Austin Town Hall

“The Korean quartet Say Sue Me comes from the city of Busan in South Korea and create English-language guitar perfection with influences from both shoegaze and punk.” Popmani (Sweden)
